DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING AT THE ROYALTON IN CANCUN!
Reviewed on Jan 27, 2022
This is a warning to anyone considering booking their wedding at the Royalton Cancun - DO NOT! They will lure you in with promotions and NOT deliver.
We had our wedding at the Royalton. Included in our wedding contract was a tiered promotion that enabled us to earn a FREE return stay to the Royalton if our guests booked X number of rooms. We had a large wedding with 90 guests and we hit a tier that earned us a 4 night 5 day stay back at the Royalton. The Royalton NEVER gave us our certificate for the stay. I reached out multiple times to numerous people to obtain our return stay certificate and was consistently given a number of excuses as to why they hadn't provided me with the certificate:
-They couldn't find my contract (I sent them the contract multiple times)
-My wedding planner no longer worked there (shouldn't matter - she didn't create the agreement)
-They needed to contact the wedding department (I was speaking with the wedding department)
-They had to get sales to approve (How long does that take?)
-Then they just wouldn't respond...
They most recently told me that since I hadn't booked our return stay within a certain window of time they wouldn't honor the return stay. AS A REMINDER, the Royalton NEVER gave us our return stay certificate and we count not book our return stay without that.
Throughout this process, I received AWFUL customer service and was treated like an afterthought. This has been a massive time suck and a frustrating process. They are NOT honoring their own agreement.
Furthermore, during our initial stay there they "forgot" to provide us with additional accommodations that were outlined in the agreement, which we didn't make a fuss about during our stay.
DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING AT THE ROYALTON. They DO NOT honor their wedding agreements and will disregard you once your wedding is over!
