Talk about LUXURY treatment. I absolutely loved this resort. The staff was amazing and always treated us like royalty. Bar service was on point and top shelf liquor was available with the exception of Patron and Hennessy. The restaurants were top notch but I would recommend making reservations for all of the specialty restaurants when you arrive because walk ins are hard to come by after four o'clock. The best place to get food at anytime during the day is "The Market" , it is buffet style with service staff that brings you drinks and other special requests like hot sauce (lol). There are three main pools that weren't over crowded (might be due to the month we visited). The rooms were clean and looked exactly like the pictures on the website. Please do enjoy the Jacuzzi and spa as all of our guests loved this amenity (so did I). The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there was an overflow of water in one of my guests rooms from the shower backing up. Other than that I LOVE this resort and genuinely enjoyed my stay here and I am using my wedding discount to come back (minimum 5 night stay with two additional free nights, price matched, valid for two years).
Welcome Party: Included, based on number of guests, my theme was all white (see videos and photos). I choose the Mexican buffet for this event and it was soooooooooooo good and authentic. We had our signature drinks at both the wedding and the welcome party and it was a hit, guests were greeted outside the venue with signature drinks. The decorations was a surprise, I was not expecting the "Mexico" letters or decorations so it was a nice surprise. We rented an audio system that we hooked our iPad up to and purchased a clicker from amazon to change songs (so convenient). We added the glow drums as entertainment and it was a HIT and SO much fun!!!! If you have the extra coins go for it. This party definitely set the tone for the wedding!
WEDDING CEREMONY/RECEPTION RATING : 5 Stars all around.
Ceremony: Beach location is not private but I enjoyed every bit of it, we felt like celebrities during our entire stay. We told guests about our ceremony and every last one of them and more showed up to watch us :) it was so cool. Do not worry too much about people walking by as they can be edited out of the photos. Our coordinator and guests also made sure to "shoo" hotel guests away. Me and my husband's bands were cut off. The rest of the wedding parties will be edited out (no biggie). We paid for the violinist, custom arch, shoe station (so cool), custom runway with initials and rose petals to be thrown. Keep in mind there is a free ceremony option but we choose to be extra lol.
Wedding Day:
Onsite Coordinator: Our on site coordinator was Elvia and she was simply amazing. She had a barney bag full of tricks and she was ALWAYS on point. I had a dress malfunction when I went to change my dress for the reception, none of my bridesmaids were anywhere to be found. Luckily my hair stylist and MUA were in the restroom when I went to change. They held my dress change together while Elvia SEWED my dress on. Yes you read that right, I shouldn't have to go on about how awesome she is after that last sentence because just WOW.
But I will continue because she was awesome. The morning of my wedding she sent me a message and asked what kind of foods we wanted delivered to our rooms for getting ready, she sent up extra chairs to my room for the bridal party to have a space to sit and she just was on POINT with everything. She came up to the room while I took my getting ready photos and helped with a little things like putting on my earrings and foot jewelry. During the ceremony and reception she took candid photos and sent them to me after. I truly loved working with Elvia, please request her if you can.
Photography/videography: The team I had was awesome which included 3 members. They were very hands on and great with directions. They got a LOT of good shoots and worked off of our "good vibes only" energy (see video of bridesmaids laughing). I used the photography company that was recommended and purchased the ruby package for $2700 which included :
5 HOURS OF PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY
INCLUDES: GETTING READY, CEREMONY, COUPLE AND FAMILY’S SESSION AND RECEPTION
300 EDITED PICTURES IN DIGITAL FORMAT
HARD COVER PHOTO BOOK 8X11 WITH 60 EDITED PICTURES
DIGITAL SLIDESHOW WITH THE 60 SELECTED PICTURES FOR THE BOOK
For Video I Choose Rubyfor $1500 which included:
5 HOURS OF VIDEO SERVICE
INCLUDES: GETTING READY, CEREMONY, COUPLE AND FAMILY’S SESSION AND RECEPTION
EDITED VIDEO IN DIGITALLY DELIVERED MP4 FORMAT OF UP TO 35 MINUTES
Reception Location: Rooftop/Sunset Terrace - 4 hours (Bathrooms on same level)
Weather: Windy but I loved it because I get hot easily. Other than that the rooftop was not windy on any regular day. I recommend this location because you can save money ($1500) by having your reception and cocktail hour in the same space.
Food: Bluegrass Buffet
My guests loved the food, it was DELICIOUS. I was smacking on ribs and chicken ALL night. The buffet stayed the whole time.
Music: I got the Turquoise package/Package B With add on from encore. The system was bumping and the lighting was perfect. My dad made a mixtape and put it on a flash drive. It felt like we had a live DJ, all of our guest were using the mic hyping each other up. I recommend using someone you trust as an MC because you will need one person to MC and change the songs from your ipad for when the bridal party comes out.
This was literally the best day ever and I would have not done it any other way.
